This guide explains the main ideas. The Privacy Policy, Terms and DPA contain the full details and take priority over this summary.
When you send a recording
The organization asking for it is collecting the content to understand or communicate with you. Depending on the capture method and enabled features, that can include your screen, voice, camera, screenshots and technical context such as console messages or network details. Close unrelated tabs and hide information the recipient does not need. Browser recording permissions do not explain every use the receiving organization may make of the result; check its notice too.
When you join a live call
Your microphone, camera and shared screen are available to the participants you join. If the call is recorded or transcribed, those materials become part of the customer's workspace. The organization hosting the call is responsible for explaining this and obtaining any consent required. Ask the host if you are unsure what will be saved.
Who can see the result?
Workspace membership, folder permissions and recording-sharing settings determine access. A link intended for sharing can be forwarded. Public embeds and downloads can put copies outside Screendesk's control. Check the audience before sending a link, and ask your administrator about the privacy controls available on your plan.
Where does the data go?
Infrastructure and media providers help us store and deliver recordings. Live-call providers connect participants. Depending on your feature choices, AI providers process relevant content to produce transcripts, reports or answers. Customer-selected integrations can receive information you ask us to send. See the provider register and AI Terms.
Media storage, AI processing, support and operational logs are different activities. Choosing an EU media location does not automatically confine all of them to the EU. Tell us about any contractual residency requirement before using the affected features.
Is my content used to train AI?
Screendesk does not use Customer Data to train general-purpose models. Managed AI providers must respect that restriction. If you connect your own provider account, review its data terms and billing tier as well. AI may receive media, not just transcripts, and its output needs human review.
Can I export or delete it?
Use available download or export controls, or ask your workspace administrator. Contact support@screendesk.io for assistance. A departing user's content may belong to the organization's workspace, so deleting the user's login does not automatically erase it.
The DPA explains export and deletion timelines. Removing active data and expiring protected backups are separate steps; neither should be described as instant deletion everywhere. A recipient may still hold a copy you shared outside the service.
Who should I contact?
For a recording collected by a company, start with that company's privacy contact. For your Screendesk account, our website or help reaching the right person, email support@screendesk.io. You do not need an account to ask a privacy question.
